TENSANSHI
(The sky sericulture)

The “Tensanshi” has features such as a deep, attractive luster, and a feathery soft supple texture.

The textile which is produced would not wrinkle.

Because it is strong, it is called “Tensansandai,” and also “Diamond textile.” It is extremely expensive and scarce.

This thread is hard to dye; therefore, it is dyed with other threads, giving a special charm because the Tensanshi portion would stand out.

MATAMUKASHI
(Review of the ancient)

This “Matamukashi” is called the illusory cocoon which was abandoned since the Meiji Era but has been activated for textiles for the first time by SHIMAKYU.

The traditional ancient dyestuffs

“Shikonzome” and “Aizome” is one of the “kusakizome” carried since Ancient Period.
It takes a lot of time and effort to finalize the dyeing process, especially for “Shikonzome,” which takes several years until color is stabilized.

Raden
(A lamina of mother-of pearl)

The pearl color portion of the shells are taken out and sewn into the clothes. The resulting bright shine adds a splendid luxuriance to the costume.
